Electric power fittings industry is the pillar industry of electric power production. It has been developed for decades in China. The production and sales of electric power fittings are gradually industrialized under the guidance of the electric power department. The demand side of electric power fittings is mainly power grid engineering industry, which is mainly affected by national policies. In recent years, the construction of electric power engineering in China is constantly strengthened, and the demand for electric power fittings is also rising, which brings new development opportunities to the electric power fittings industry. Since the implementation of the product production license, there are more than 210 licensed enterprises, including 3 foreign-funded enterprises, with a total of more than 410 product units. Manufacturers are distributed throughout the country, including Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, accounting for more than 1/3 of the total, enterprise product units are different, different varieties, production scale is very different, annual output value from several million to several hundred million. At present, there are about 30 enterprises that are qualified to produce 500KV power transmission and transformation fittings, 15 enterprises that produce 750KV power transmission and transformation fittings, and 11 enterprises that produce 1000KV uHV power transmission and transformation fittings: all of these enterprises have strong production capacity and high management level, and are in the leading position of the current power fittings. The number of product units obtained by obtaining evidence enterprises varies, and there are more than 50 enterprises obtaining 4 product units. Enterprises with the production qualification of 500KV and above line fittings basically have a product unit certificate: Most of the enterprises with 3 or 2 product units do not produce malleable cast iron products for environmental protection reasons, while most of the enterprises with 1 product unit are malleable cast iron products and pre-stranded gold tools. Pre-twisted fittings are mainly OPGW, ADSS cable supporting, existing PLP and other more than a dozen manufacturers, 1 product unit of the enterprise is only the production of shock hammer or insulation wire supporting fittings, this kind of enterprise is generally not very large.

In the early stage of liberation, the gold fittings and their design for power transmission and transformation projects in China originated from the former Soviet Union. In 1951, the first domestic electric power fittings manufacturing enterprise was born. Before the reform and opening up, there were mainly four state-owned power fittings factories in China, in addition, there were some local collective enterprises, a total of more than 20 power fittings manufacturers. After the reform and opening up, private enterprises in Jiangsu, Hebei, Sichuan and Zhejiang developed and matured one by one. After 2000, a batch of cast iron production enterprises were formed in Taigu, Shanxi Province, forming five industrial clusters in China. There are about 350 electric power fittings enterprises with production capacity in China (according to the situation of obtaining the production license of electric power fittings in 2016), among which less than 100 are rich in production categories and have large-scale capacity, about 30 have the background of power grid companies, and about 10 are foreign-funded enterprises involved in the electric power fittings industry. Electric power fittings are closely related to electric power construction. Different voltage levels, conductor types and tower structures require different fittings. High voltage levels have higher technical requirements and more stringent reliability requirements for products. In 981, China's first 500K power transmission line (Pingwu Line) was completed, and China's ultra-high voltage power transmission and transformation technology has been leading the world since then. With the progress of science and technology, the manufacturing process, production equipment and materials of electric power fittings are changing constantly. Some firms that fail to keep up with the changing demands of the market gradually decline. In 1999, power grid companies gradually implemented the mode of bidding and procurement, opened the access threshold, implemented more open and fair market competition, and created a number of excellent manufacturing enterprises.

There are more than 200 electric power fittings manufacturers in China, among which there are three state-owned ones: Nanjing Line Fittings Factory, Siping line fittings Factory and Chengdu Electric Power fittings General Factory. Nanjing line equipment factory was founded in April 1952, a former hydropower enterprises directly under ministry of, now a wholly owned subsidiary of jiangsu electric power company, covers an area of 220000, fixed assets over one hundred million yuan, the total number of employees 1300 people, the annual production capacity of more than 60000 tons, is the country's largest power hardware, electric power construction machinery research, design, manufacturers; Siping Line Equipment Factory is subordinate to China Power Construction Group Co., LTD. It was founded in 1951, covers an area of 190,000 m2, has state-owned fixed assets of 104.42 million yuan, and has an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons. Chengdu Electric Power Fittings General Factory is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Power Construction Group Co., LTD. The factory covers an area of 132 mu, with fixed assets of nearly 100 million yuan and an annual production capacity of 30000T.
